Republican Presidential candidate Donald Trump was the chief guest at a fundraiser event organised by Hindu Republican Coalition in New Jersey. The event included skits and dance performances by popular artistes from the film industry, also saw the Republican Presidential nominee deliver a speech on his love for ‘Hindu’ and India.
Trump seems to have realized the impact of India and voters of Indian-orgin will have on upcoming Presidential poll. In the wake of growing negativity among the party and his supporters he tried to woo the Indian community to boost his Presidential polls.
Trump said that “I am a big fan of Hindu and I am a big fan of India,” said Donald Trump after he lighted the ceremonial diya.
Remarking upon the contribution made by the Indian community in the United States, Trump said that “generations of Indian and Hindu Americans have strengthened our country and strengthened it like few people could ever even believe.”
“Your values of hard work, education and enterprise have truly enriched our nation and we will be celebrating a Trump administration together. Indian Americans have the highest rate of entrepreneurship and college graduation in our country,” said Trump.
Applauding India’s contribution in the fight against terrorism, Donald Trump remarked that “we all know that we cannot have prosperity without security and that is why we appreciate the great friend India has been to the United States in the fight against radical Islamic terrorism.”
