Reliance Jio has created waves among the telecom industry, since it entered the Indian telecom sector. After starting its commercial operations from September 5, the company has successfully managed to gather 16 million users in less than a month’s time.
A major reason for the brisk subscriber acquisition is its “Welcome Offer” that gives users free access to all its services like 4GB of data every day as well as its range of content services that include live TV streaming, movies on demand and a music service.
At the launch event Reliance Industries’ chairman, Mukesh Ambani, announced that the “Welcome Offer” would be valid till December 31 but now analysts suggest the offer could possibly be extended for another quarter and services could remain free till March 2017 to meet its target of acquiring 100 million subscribers.
According to Business paper Mint reports Jio’s head of Strategy and Planning expressed that it would be unfair to charge customers until Jio management is fully satisfied with the quality of service. Analysts are now suggesting that Jio will extend its Welcome Offer until March 2017, that means an additional three months.
